Artist Talk: Máximo González

Current artist-in residence, Maximo González, opens up his studio for a sneak peak at what he’s been working on.

Material Poems represents a new way of working for Art Center resident artist Máximo González. In preparation for his residency, González wrote poems that to help generated ideas for the sculptures and installations he will create here. Using found objects from the city’s many flea markets and garage sales, González sculptures address various topics ranging from childhood memories to international political problems.

At this Open Studio event, Máximo will display his most recent set of works, and speak about his process and progress.
